Ludicrous. This is the UK. He’ll get some amusing rude banners waved at him, and if they’re really really angry someone might throw an egg his way.

If high threat is a pint of beer being thrown at him then certainly! However I highly doubt anyone would try anything more than that
I understand that this sort of visit always needs serious security, and that is of course right and proper, but the difference between the UK and the US is that every weirdo radicalised teenager can’t get their hands on a high powered hunting rifle, and we generally don’t settle our differences by shooting each other.
If it did happen on UK soil, wonder what the outcome would be.

Thankfully guns are very hard to get hold of here so the chances of a repeat of this are very low.
Police prep for high threat state visit, quickly realise that the gun threat is negligible, then chill.

I doubt very much that high-powered rifles will be as available over here as a would-be assassin would like them to be.
I feel like the charlie Kirk stuff is a bit meaningless here? I doubt they are prepping any differently than they usually would when a foreign leader, especially one as high profile as trump is visiting.
Also, not sure why they would expect a copy cat attack here, worst he’ll probably get is some mean tweets from some Internet warriors and some banners at a protest.
This isn’t anything new. They prep for this all the time. Sensationalist bullshit.

OMG, could you imagine the international reaction if *somehow* Trump died in the UK? Not just the whole ‘ Finally King Charles takes his revenge’ memes and general outrage etc, but also British folk are not subtle. There was dancing in the street when Maggie Thatcher died, and people took the piss a lot.
It would be a huge mess. We would not take things seriously at all. And then we’d be told to behave, and it’d get worse.
