Russia, very much like Serbian russophiles, believe in „Color Revolutions“.

In their mind: revolutions who are instigated, planned, financed and controlled from outside (aka the US, Jews, gays or simple “the west”) to manipulate the people of the ex-USSR and Yugoslavia to rise up against their poor poor leaders, who only ever had the best in mind for their people..

In reality: people were fed up with electoral fraud, extreme corruption and outright suppression of people by oligarchs.

In many ex USSR countries you can still find people believing the first “interpretation”. Russia is investing simply grotesque capacities into this kind of propaganda, and a sad truth about social media (or any media that is..) manipulation is that it absolutely works.

The Euro Maidan was a manifestation of the will of the people of Ukraine, to stand up for more democracy, and freedom, and subsequently distance themselves from regimes like Russia, and their sock puppet politicians like Janukowytsch.

Any time these Russian lies go in circulation again, we need to point out the truth. As tiring as it may be with their massive disinformation efforts.
