They intend to do that anyway, so it´s kind of a non-story

    2. Redditforgoit on

Translation: We’re really, really beginning to need those funds.

    3. Mars_target on

Everyone on 3, let’s take their assets like they have taken the lives of thousands of Ukrainians.

    4. Zhukov-74 on

My brother in christ you have taken dozens of western assets since 2022.

    5. Sometimes I like to imagine that all-powerful aliens appear from space and just instantly eradicae Russia in a way that leaves no time for any counter-attack, and then we all celebrate. <3

One of the many many Russian red lines, that we all have lost count of by now

    7. medievalvelocipede on

The Russians bragged about all the assets they stole from western companies that pulled out. It’s the kind of thing they’re proud over.

Do it and don’t listen to propaganda. Russia must pay for their crimes and destruction.

    9. Objective_Mousse7216 on

The fact they really need those funds means it’s more important than ever they never receive them.

So let’s stop acting as states and go act as a federation

    11. Seizing RuSSian assets is working then. Good to know. Let’s seize more. A lot more.

    12. yankdevil on

They’re already going after every country in Europe, so if we’re going to be punished for the thing, let’s do the thing!

    13. Can’t we just grow a spine?

I mean Europe has all the resources to throw Russia out of Ukraine. We want nothing of Russia other than them to stop undermining and invading our democracies.

For once do what is right and just?

    14. cynicdutch on

Zzzzz.. they keep telling this. Just use it for rebuilding ukraine already and revoke those passports & real estate oligarchs and any rIch russians have in the EU

    15. greenpowerman99 on

Russia has stolen $ Billions in western businesses and assets since it was sanctioned by the West.

For example, dozens of commercial aircraft belonging to western airlines have been seized by Putin and gifted to his supporters’ airlines.

Yet another example of accusing your enemies of doing exactly what you are doing.

    16. WasteWing5137 on

Is my front sunflower garden considered a state asset? I have quite a bit of fallen Russian merch within that Putin might not be pleased with if this is the case.

      > Dmitry Medvedev

He can only “go after” Finland…

      Not the country but vodka

    18. xExerionx on

Fuck Russia, take the assets and say we dont know who took it …

Not that EU takes them… they only take the interests

    19. What about Ukraine going after them for taking their assets and land? Why is that unfair? Just asking questions that would be illegal in Moscow

    20. Old_Muggins on

Every day another threat, whatever Ukraine is doing is working, Russia getting desperate.

    21. ingenkopaaisen on

They have already taken western assets. All the civilian aircraft is a big one.

    22. If Europe needs stronger reason to take those Russian assets, this is it. They need the money to kill more Ukrainians, and other Europeans after that.

Russia took billions upon billions of assets belonging to European companies in and after 2022, so this would be fair.

    23. Redragontoughstreet on

Banning Russians from the west. Confiscate all their money; give half of it to Ukraine right away and invest the other half to boost Europe’s own domestic production of military equipment
