Unfortunately, the previous post got removed because the headline was updated by the paper.. As I said in the last post, the Irish Independent is getting ideas from Reddit.

This is also Ploughing Championship week so he is trying to appeal to farmers.

      >”I was down on a family farm in Kildare,” he said of the campaign video as he spoke to reporters at today’s Fianna Fail think-in in Cork.

      >”They are very close friends who moved up from Clare. I do have very much a rural connection – I am a proud Dub. I was born on the east coast but my parents are from the west coast.

Is it a family farm or a friends farm?

My brother in law is from a farming family so I guess that makes me a farmer too by this logic

Gavin should just make the following pitch:

“If I get the presidency, I won’t be around to help Dublin GAA win anymore.”

Rural Ireland would vote for him in a landslide.

The Indo should take some pics of Jim milking the bulls. That’ll impress rural Ireland.

I grew up outside the Pale and both my parents grew up on farms. I’d be lost on a farm. DNA has nothing to do with it.

TBF he’s always been proud of his Clare roots. He brought the Dublin team down to Clare on numerous times. My parents are both from the country and have farming backgrounds and I’m from Dublin. I spent my childhoods on farms so it wouldn’t surprise me if he did likewise.

I live in north Dublin City but my aunty is a farmer in Limerick. Ergo, I’m a proud female farmer from Limerick. It’s in my DNA. 💃💅🐮

    9. This is a blatant attempt to appeal to people outside of Dublin nothing more. I feel like it’s going to blow up in Martin’s face when he doesn’t win. This could be a nail in his coffin in regards to FF leadership.

How insulting it must be to anyone who’s a farmer.

I can tell you anecdotally from the local that this gombeen is being laughed at by actual farmers.

Any self respecting farmer that doesn’t close a gate behind, is not really a farmer. He miserably failed the gate test. Townie.

    12. SeaninMacT on

      – Spotless white pants to a farm

      – Doesn’t instinctually close the gate after him

      – A jacket that looks like he’s off Downton Abbey

He’s as much a farmer as I am the Dublin football manager.

Praying the Dubs don’t associate their great memories of his time over them as a reason to throw this shite into the Áras. Use it as a chance to Lord it over Mayo who threw Dillon into the Dáil lads!
