I think that Putins ‘friends’ (Trump and Xi) are encouraging him, with manipulative win-win motives.
– Most likely Putin will burn Russia out, leaving a world with only 2 superpowers… Except with those annoying Europeans that could at any point organise to become the 3rd superpower.
– If Putin succeeds… Those Europeans are dealt with leaving the world with only 2 superpowers… Except with ‘The Russia Problem”.
Uncertainty is toxic for their economies, encouraging Putin hastens both scenarios and is better than doing nothing.
