Repesiteative democracy doesn’t work, all these parties are trash. FPÖ is the least trashy party so that’s understandable.

Despite winning the election, FPÖ (far right) is not part of government, instead, ÖVP (centre right), SPÖ (centre left) and NEOS (progressive liberal) formed a government coalition.

Edit: The election was held in september 2024, so the next election will be held in 2029.

The FPÖ does the Trump thing.

Being extremely radical right wing… spreading hate and fakenews on social media platforms… getting financed by the Russians….. started their own “media-platform” with selected news on youtube…. telling everyone Orban is the savior…. and much more.

And the “normal” parties don’t know how to handle all of that. They are not populist enough to get heard.

It’s so sad populist messages spread that easy and reasonable messages are just boring and lame.

The center and left have to find a way to oppose these right-wing messages.

Eh, FPÖ might get into government and then promptly implode again because they are corrupt. That’s life in Austria

Holy fuck after the FPÖ were bribed by Russian intelligence agents they still vote them in?

I heard that Austria aims to become more like Hungary, trying to profit off their “neutrality” by providing access to Russian financial institutions into the EU.

      It is quite cynical

Everybody should vote for FPÖ so Austria dont end up like Germany

I swear the left in europe gotta start doing something instead of letting it drift this far to the right. I guess they dont have billionair funding which makes it harder but still use the god damn frustration

Interesting spread — FPÖ pulling ahead strongly, while ÖVP and SPÖ are fighting for second place

    10. And another example of the globalisation of the oligarchy authoritarism agenda: manipulating population throw mass and social media that they own and drive (you know, like a certain dude at x-twitter).

People are tired, struggles, getting desesperate and so are incline to populism now. So better for them to drive the mass toward the authoritarian, hateful form (far-right) than the humanist and egalitarist form (far-left) that could threat their privileges.
