If this isn’t gross misconduct then I don’t know what could be. The dire situation in obtaining and retaining trained clinicians is obviously behind this as if it was a porter caught with nurse between patient transport jobs he would have been dismissed on the spot. The point isn’t about likelihood of reoffending it’s about what he did – in the middle of an op. Crazy lopsided world and where’s the politicians commenting on this?
There is no way on earth I’d allow him to be involved in any medical care I received. He’s literally walked away from a sedated patient to get his willy wet.
Nurse C also needs to be bombed out. Both completely unfit to be in any sort of care position.
Edit: and the decision makers at the tribunal need to be thrown in the bin, too.
“Low risk” isn’t “no risk”.
So what they’re saying is he *probably* won’t nip out of an operation **again,** to play hide the sausage.
