      I mean yeah he’s the Mayor of London and still makes less than £200k a year. Is this supposed to seem like it’s unreasonable?

      Best-paid in terms of official salary, yes. What do you expect as the Mayor of the country’s CAPITAL?

      MPs and the likes who receive ‘donations’ and ‘gifts’ from other people, if those were counted, would skyrocket above his salary.

      Really it shows how real politicians earn (. I don’t like Khan at all, but 200k is the salary of head teacher in the high school. It’s reasonable for the major to get a bit more. Ministers should get way more…

      Dumbest form of clickbait journalism.

      We need to pay politicians well if we want to have competent people leading our country and cities. It also helps reduce the chance that they’ll become corrupt, which costs the economy far more than the salaries of politicians.

      The CEO of Tesco is pulling nearly £10 million with the CEO of UK plc only makes officially £311k.

      IMO politicians should be paid much better to hopefully attract some talent into government, and not hobby politicians like Jacob Rees-Mogg that can afford to have a hobby as such. You’d also attract grass roots politicians. This would have to be coupled with anyone in Westminster having no outside concerns.
