      That’s a pretty reasonable position. Why should the US take an economic hit due to tariffs while the EU keeps buying Indian oil? Do Europeans think that everyone else is dumb?

      Why should the US do this if Europe isn’t willing? The goal is to pressure Russia. Europe is still remitting over $24 Billion to Russia annually for energy, funding Russia’s war machine. Europe should lead the way in using sanctions to stop the war, and the US should follow. But absent Europe taking the hard decisions, and the consequences for those decisions, why should the US?

      The democrats must have a incredible turnaround plan im store, else the us is going down the drain fast. They fuck around in every aspect of their politics, they will sure find out in at a few out of them.

      At the moment the us seems like the least reliable partner to Europe… I feel like from now on every couple years, we will have this kind of shitshow.

      We need China to hate us less, not more. Instead we should work hard to set up long term trade and collaboration agreements with China before it’s too late.

      I am still baffled by how quickly a (somewhat) trusted ally can become the most unreliable nation to deal with. We knew the USA to be protectionistic and tend to fall back on isolationism, that is what we used to expect in making treaties and economic deals.

      In a few months, I rapidly lost most trust I still had left. We need to face reality, become less dependent from global supply chains and look for more reliable allies…
