It’s funny to see the flak Dassault gets when Rheinmetall advocates for Europe to grow up to be a more reliable US ally. Yes, what we need is definitly closer ties and just assembling US technologies, like that the US can cut off when we misbehave.

The world needs the German war machine back. Between US threats towards Canada, Panama, European, there needs to be another military super power to put the US in their place.

He threaded the needle on this issue perfectly at least from my understanding.
Which is, Europe needs to build up its own stuff and pull its own weight in the alliance with the US so it becomes an equal partner. Then the quiet part of this is that if the US doesn’t fulfill its role in the partnership then Europe wouldn’t be defenseless.
