Also never heard of the equal reparations demands from Russia for invading the country or imposing a multi decade communist regime and paritioning the land nor indeed never heard politicians asking for their land back from Belarus and Ukraine. Is Germany just easy to throw shit at?
They already received it, in a format dictated by the Soviet Union:
Poland was to be excluded from the proceedings of the IARA by demand from the Soviet Union. The Allies agreed as part of the Potsdam Agreement, that the Soviet Union collects and distributes the Polish share of reparations. Furthermore, the Soviet Union would extract its share of reparations mostly from the territory in its own occupation zone. The Provisional Polish Government concluded the Polish-Soviet Reparation Treaty on 16 August 1945. The treaty allocated Poland’s share of confiscated German machinery, goods and raw materials. Furthermore Poland received 15% of the German merchant fleet acquired by the Soviet Union. Deliveries were overseen by a joint Polish-Soviet commission and lasted until 1953.

It’s also easier to gain traction within right wing electorate by saying „germany pay ww2 reparations” once in a while which germany will ignore rather than
„after getting sold out to ussr by allies and having puppet government imposed on us which denounced further reparations from germany and the 15% of reparations paid out to ussr that was meant for us suspiciously never reached us so ‚legally’ germany does not have to pay it” and talking to russia about this money is even more pointless.

I can’t hear these reparations demands anymore. It’s annoying. Every four years, it’s an running joke in Polish election campaigns. Everyone knows they won’t get any money. The issue is settled. Three different Polish governments have confirmed that the whole thing is over, and the land they received after World War II is also a form of reparations. Furthermore, without Germany, the European Union wouldn’t exist and Poland have profited enormously from the EU and built its poor economy into a $1 trillion economy, and it could never exist in this form without the EU. The war is 80 years over. Let’s finally look forward.
