    1. It’s been a bad week for the Magniers.
Failed in their use of lawfare to purchase a 750ac estate in South Tipp and now can’t demolish historic farm buildings an another newly acquired farm down there.

Hats off that group that protested and helped save these old buildings on the land.
As for Tipp CoCo, they need to have a long hard look at themselves after allowing the demolition to go ahead.
It was An Coimisiún Pleanála that eventually overturned that decision.
Magniers now say “our priority now must be on ensuring public safety given the crumbling buildings remain a serious health and safety danger.” Better that than bulldozing them.

I think it’s time something was done to stop these wealthy individuals/corporations buying up large tracts of agricultural land as some tax avoidance scheme. Local farmers can’t compete against these entities.
I realise they are a huge employer down in South Tipp but how much is enough for this organisation?

No fan of rich farmers but the amount of stuff we cant touch because it is old in this country is crazy. All for preserving heritage and culture but this is just an old shed/cottage. Nothing unique or famous about it
