“distracted” as in, she was most likely on her phone.
She was also sentenced to a suspended 2 year jail sentence (meaning if she commits no crimes during these 2 years, she’ll always be free)
Its seems to be universal that you get la ight sentence for killing with a car.
A horrific accident but a bit of misleading title – the driver has been sentenced for 2 years in prison, right in the middle of the judicial guideline. She could have been sentenced just for 1 (one) month, to put things in perspective.
>Negligent Homicide (art. 136 of the Penal Code), is punishable with a prison term of no less than 1 month and no longer than 3 years, or a fine. If the death is caused by gross negligence the penalty the prison term is of 1 month to 5 years.
Oslo 2012. Male cyclist hits other female cyclist. She falls into the road and gets run over by bus. Dead. Court 2013. No punishment. 🤷🏼♂️
