Really shows the limitations of the Left-Right divide in these graphs

Smer and Hlas are maybe left wing economically, but culturally they are right wing

Problem with this graph is that PS preffers SaS/KDH over SMER
And SMER preffers Republika and SNS over PS

Does this mean you will kick out Fico soon?

What a disappointment Slovakia
At least PiS will win the next elections in Poland

For those who don’t follow Slovak political parties, who is winning – the pro-Russian parties or the pro-European ones?

Hlas and Smer are as left wing as North Korea is democratic.

Olano and Friends lmao sounds like a sitcom title

I mean it’s confusing enough for other Europeans to see the extremist right be light blue in Germany when the centre right EVP is light blue, but having a centre left party in light blue and both left-wing and a far-right party in red is… a choice for sure. Also apparently if you’re on the right side basically pick any color you want, lol.

Slovakia’s so-called ‘democratic’ parties haven’t won an election in the past 32 years. Not a single one. They came close only once in 1998, when a large coalition (SDK) was formed. These parties usually make it into government only when the winner (SMER or HZDS) can’t secure enough seats to govern.
Yet time and again, these marginal parties insist on running separately. In the last election alone, more than 10% of votes were wasted because these tiny parties failed to clear the 5% threshold.
Will they ever learn? Most likely not.
There was one non-SMER or HZDS win – by bat-shit crazy populist Matovič, who essentially rolled out the red carpet for SMER’s return. (Matovič is most likely from the same stable as SMER and HZDS even if he is trying to act as their arch-enemy)

Smer isn’t left-wing, they have no ideology except machiavellianism.

The way to contain the far right and far left is to let them in power and wait for them to get annihilated at the next election

Can someone explain the deal with hlas? I thought they split from smer because of it’s anti eu stances, but then they enter a coalition with them and the far right?

How tf is SMER a left-wing party? It sound legit crazy

So why do they have a fascist as president ?

The Graph is relatively useless, since the red bar contains 2/3 of the ruling coalition (Hlas and Smer) and the main opposition party (PS – Progressive Slovenia). Grouping them into pro-EU and Pro-Russia would make more sense regarding coalition perspectives.

The fact that Fico’s party is considered left-wing is crazy…. I don’t want to imagine what the far-right looks like there.
