* The cathedral is the main Armenian church in the city of Gherla, historically known as Armenopolis, a city founded in the 18th century by Armenian settlers from Moldova with support from the Viennese court.
* Built in Baroque style, it reflects the city’s Armenian heritage in Romania and houses a painting attributed to Rubens!
* Because the church itself was closed, I was only able to view the interior through the glass doors, so unfortunately I didn’t get to see it.
