      **Article:**

Zarah Sultana has been forced to shut down the “unauthorised” membership portal she set up for Jeremy Corbyn’s new hard-Left party.

The former Labour MP plunged the party into further chaos by launching the paid-up membership drive without Mr Corbyn’s permission and accusing her co-founder of running a “sexist boys’ club”.

Provisionally known as Your Party, the movement was seen as a potential challenger to both Labour and Reform UK. At the time of its launch, Mr Corbyn said: “It’s going to be fun.”

The website hosting the membership portal is still live, inviting supporters to “join us today to be part of our founding journey”.

However, those who click through to “join Your Party today” are told the action is not possible. The link previously led to another page where prospective members could enter their details.

It comes after Mr Corbyn warned Ms Sultana that she should not be trying to “control” the party and defended one of his key aides caught up in the row.

Speaking at the annual conference of the Peace and Justice Project – the organisation behind Your Party – he said: “The process that we’re going through at the moment has been, you obviously are aware of it, quite difficult over the last few days.

“But I am absolutely determined this party will be founded, this party will have its founding conference in November, this party will be open, democratic and grassroots-based.”

He added: “The process that’s going on at the moment, despite what some people have discussed endlessly on social media… is that the Independent Alliance Group of MPs – Zarah Sultana, myself, Ayoub Khan, Shockat Adam and Adnan Hussain – are together organising not to run it, not to control it, not to direct it, merely to facilitate it.”

On Friday, Ms Sultana announced that she had “instructed specialist defamation lawyers” to protect against “politically-motivated” attacks on her character.

She said: “Over the last 24 hours, a number of false and defamatory statements have been published about me concerning the launch of Your Party’s membership portal. The portal was properly launched in accordance with the party’s roadmap.

“At no point was members’ data misused or put at risk. All funds received from members were ring-fenced and protected in the appropriate manner.”

The row exploded on Thursday morning when an invitation was sent to supporters of the hard-Left outfit, inviting them to sign up and give it financial backing.

The membership drive was promoted by Ms Sultana, but Mr Corbyn described it as “unauthorised” and warned people not to sign up, in a statement on social media.

The former Labour leader and Independent MP for Islington North also said “legal advice” was being taken over the message.

In turn, Ms Sultana said: “After being sidelined by the MPs named in today’s statement and effectively frozen out of the official accounts, I took the step of launching a membership portal so that supporters could continue to engage and organise.”

Despite Mr Corbyn’s warning, she insisted supporters of Your Party should “sign up now” as the portal was a “safe, secure, legitimate” means of becoming a member of the party.

The link is still advertised on Ms Sultana’s X account, which she has used to promote the platform.

It’s going to be quite tricky for me to extoll the virtues of Corbyn and the left after this. It wasn’t easy before, but this takes things up a notch

All of this before the ‘party’ has even got a name

If the Corbyn faction are to be believed, Sultana used a membership mailing list that she didn’t have official access to in order to solicit donations without the party’s consent for an unofficial portal, and the money went to an account which was not the authorised Your Party account.

If this is true, then this is more than just a personal spat between 2 MPs; it is a serious GDPR data breach and possible case of fraud. As such Corbyn’s people have reported Sultana to the Information Commissioner.

If I were Starmer I’d be seeing how I could immediately bring an investigation to bear upon them. If it becomes a legal matter, that would make reconciliation between Corbyn and Sultana impossible and force Your Party to expel Sultana.

Honestly the whole “the left is too busy in-fighting to do literally anything” cliche has been done to death and I hope the writers move past it next season.

They’ve managed to create more factions than members.

The party’s so grassroots, its first act was to mow itself down.

Oh I see. It’s Corbyns party now.

Yet all this time they led me on, even officially naming it my party.

What a shit show. Just when we could do with a credible left wing opposition party and we’ve got these two numpties instead.

Who’d have guessed? The clueless champions of purity politics are incompetent as well as naive.

The UK recognised Palestine before “Your Party” picked a name.

I lean very left and I think these people are an utter disgrace: they sacrificed a potential opportunity to improve the living conditions of working class people for their own vanity.
