Di chi è la festa? I tuoi sostenitori del tuo partito in chiamate al gruppo di “democratizzazione” di sinistra mentre Corbyn e Sultana si scontrano sul “Sexist Boys Club”

“Your Party” hasn’t even launched yet, and in fact doesn’t even have an official party name yet, but it already has its first internal faction, that’s been formed on the premise of forcing the MPs, Corbyn and Sultana to relinquish control to the “membership”.

But there’s more to it than this. From what I can gather from the online Corbynites/Sultana-ites, this group was registered well before the Corbyn-Sultana row, which looks suspicious. Also, all the people named in this group, like Mish Rahman, have been identified as being members of the Zarah Sultana faction.

In other words, “democratise the party” could simply be a call for Corbyn to hand over to Sultana.

The left can’t manage a 2 MP party, let alone a government.

They can call to ‘democratise’ all they like. I attended a Your Party meeting in Bristol last month, which was of course unofficial due to the total absence of leadership. This also was just after Zarah Sultana appeared on stage at Forwards Festival boasting about a party that would ‘change British politics forever’. Which was a very grandiose way to describe a mailing list.

The grassroots seemed to have the same problem, there were realists, the trade union guys and old working class left. They talked about actually reaching out to the working class communities being targeted by Reform.

They were contrasted by a mix of students, trans activists, Gaza fanatics and some crank banging on about ‘scientific socialism’. They all wanted their causes to be the number one priority.

It would’ve been like herding cats, even under functional leadership.
