I’m really hoping that, even if non-trans people are indifferent to the indignity & risks this creates for trans people, they’ll realise the cost of segregation to them. Like, do you really want to have to be proving your sex everywhere you go? A system where if someone is uncomfortable with you in a hospital ward, they can accuse you and halt your care until a rare private room is free, if you don’t have your birth certificate on you?

I understand this is a divisive topic, but if transwomen say they don’t feel safe in male spaces, you have to acknowledge that some women are going to feel the same about transwomen in female spaces. You’ll never end up in a situation that makes everyone happy.

No one hates trans women like a gay white man trying not to be the next victim of the government he works for.

I am finding it really strange that there is a such a fuss about a demographic that makes up around 0.5% of the British population

The state of most of the replies here. He’s literally trying to find a solution so everyone can win – trans women get “a space that is dignified and safe and inclusive for them” and if biological women aren’t comfortable they aren’t impacted.

A third way here is the only way to ensure everyone is offered the space to be treated with respect and you all act like he’s suggesting sending trans people to gulags.

It’s the exact problem with this whole debate and activists on this issue – no conception that perhaps other people have rights too and there’s a need to find some balance and we need good faith on all sides to find a solution, instead of ‘I demand this and I don’t care what anyone else things or needs’.

      Like spoiled infants.

If one watches Wes closely one will observe he plays to his audience for his only principle is his own advancement

    10. Why does anyone still give a shit about what Mumsnet thinks? Is it the early 2000’s again or something? It’s basically the 4chan of parenthood at this point.
