      While the speaker’s premise is plausible, the subtext carries a but too much water for Kremlin propaganda. Ruzzia’s capacity to launch drones does not make them some irresistible force of terrorism; Ukraine is proving that, even without the support that should be provided them. Europe can prepare to rebuff that sort of action if they take the speaker’s warning seriously.

      I have much less hope for the US’s will to make such preparations.

      This kind of casual comments on a full-scale attack of Europe by Russia is precisely why NATO exists: Russia is a dangerously aggressive neighbour, and they think it’s the right way to be.

      This is exactly what I’ve been saying for the past month. “Hybrid+” is how they will dismantle NATO. The entire defensive apparatus of the West is built for the wrong threat, while the real threat has already taken root and only needs a few nudges to manifest fully.

      Same goes for a post war Ukraine. Even if there is a cease fire, who’s to say low key drone attacks will stop?
