That’s an interesting take, as I imagine he’d want to use them to crush Russia. Not that Russia wouldn’t use AI drones regardless of international law. They don’t care.
I doubt this is something anyone can prevent.
Why would we handicap our own weapons when our enemies are not going to do it?
The problem I see is your russia’s, NK’s etc of the world look at your rules and agreements, even ones they’ve ‘agreed’ to and laugh.
Just like we see the difficulties with Ukraine being forced to fight with their hands tied behind their backs against the war-criminal russian invader, this will just become another self-imposed disadvantage in the fight against those without decency.
Obliterate russia on the global playing field first, then look at regulating this shit.

I feel like this entire speech should have followed with Zelensky just walking away and Terminator 2 playing on a screen behind him.
What good are rules? War is the absence of rules. There’s a rule against trying to change international borders by force. Unless the world has the moral courage to actually enforce these rules, they are nothing but toilet paper.

Yeah because the levelheaded positions worked so well with the nuclear weapons and provided an equal levelling chance to all 194+ countries on earth and that was in everyone’s best interest. Sure.
