In less than a year, Russia has violated European airspace at least 67 times. At the same time, the Kremlin keeps repeating that it is Western capitals that are seeking open war.

OH NOW WE COUNT THEM! WELL THAT’S GREAT!

Look ma, they violated our airspace again!

This continent is so fucked up.

      Impressive

      Very nice.

Now let’s see Greek airspace violations.

    4. Shiet, but im sure we violated theirs way more considering how much russia cries about nato being agressive, right? right!?

    5. Defiant_Employee6681 on

They’ve been buzzing Scotlands airspace for years. RAF always escorts them back

    6. Alex51423 on

How about we do not forget about Ukraine? In the span of year there were probably close to 100K violations. Seems important if we include 2 violations in a another country

This is just the beginning unless there is pushback and solid defense of the boarders

    8. AnthonyEstacado on

Should have titled it European Union or something. Ukrainian airspace has been constitutionally violated for years pretty much every day.

From what ive read the military makes the choice on what to do based on how they are armed….air to air is not a threat so escorted out….air to ground or bombs is apparently seen as more dangerous if they refuse to get escorted out.
Nobody wants to start ww3 without a good reason.
I remember in the 80s we had russian subs in out waters nonstop we chased them with helicopters it was always in the news.
Im not saying its ok or good but its not new.
Nato wont start a war over a unarmed drone flying around looking at stuff.

And we don’t violate theirs? Like never?

If not, shouldn’t we start doing the same then?

    11. And they’ll keep doing until someone “accidentally” shots down one a Russian plane.

“Sorry (not sorry)! You know, these things have a mind of their own.”

There are 100+ violations from Turkiye in Greece every DAY.

    13. eu12stars on

Can the violations of the Ukrainian airspace be counted also?

      *Neville Chamberlain has entered chat*

Russia better take note of this. Soon, Europe will rally and establish a committee to do a study on the effectiveness of creating a defense organization that will send them a letter, giving them an official warning of possible retaliation.

And now Denmark top. Let’s gooo WW3 we are coming😭

    16. I honestly don’t see how Russia expects this to end well

They are already at the edge of economic failure, they’ve even started taking steps like ending universal national health insurance and pushing tax up even further even though they are already past the point of actually taking more money than they lose.

Its all reading as desperation to find any way to change the balance of the war before things come to a tipping point. They don’t even have the cash to mobilise again – the prewar reserves are spent at this point, and economically they have no real options to save the avalanche of companies now reaching bankruptcy.

    17. Bubbelgium on

It’s important to keep in mind the purpose of these violations. They are mostly likely meant to probe NATO’s response.

The overall reaction time, how quickly their planes get intercepted, by whom and from where. What weapons are used to shoot down their drones, are we trying to jam them, can we pinpoint the locations of the drones operators, etc.

As frustrating as it might be, the best way to answer those is…to (seemingly) do nothing. That’s how you deny the Russians the information they are looking for.

Essentially saying “that’s a nice bait you got there, it’d be a shame if absolutely nothing happened to it”

The cowards didn’t dare to try nor France nor the Uk

Since McDonald trump has abandoned ukraine russia understands it has to create pressure on europe now. They will escalate all sabotage and air space violations to try to divert EU support for ukraine. They want to create fear and cautiousness for EU to hoard equipment instead of supplying ukraine.

    20. markaleftis on

This map is missing numerous per day Turkish Violations over Greek airspace.

    21. ramanthan7313 on

In Greece by the way we got many violations every day from Turkey the last 40-50 years and none of the NATO allies did anything to help.

    22. What’s this? A joke? Turkey violates Greek airspace daily all the time
