      Idk did the hundreds of billions in aid and the massive military shipments into Ukraine for 3 years give it away? Have they finally figured out NATO opposes the invasion of Ukraine?

      A headline like this would have shocked the world 40 years ago, now we’re all like “yeah that’s just Russia being Russia, which day is it”

      The west vs russia has to be the most one-sided rivalry ever lmao. We are the eternal enemy in their mind, but to us russia is just a former empire turned violent banana republic that is attacking one of the poorest European countries unprovoked

      Do they think we think of them as an equal rival? China is the rival to the west. Russia is even more of a paper tiger than the ussr

      I’ve been thinking that since two years ago, but never told anyone: Putin wants Nato to be involved.
      He knows the war is lost, he cannot lose it against a former “province” a 1/10th of its power, that repeled their advance with sticks and stones. If Nato is involved, he’ll be able to say “Mother Russia won, the whole world was agaisnt us, Nato was involved since the start, but once again we repeled their attack and kept the entierety of our territory. Yes, we left Ukraine because we’re a peaceful people who did not want to escalate to world destruction.”
      And if they can keep Crimea as a bonus he’ll celebrate to no end.
      There’s no other analysis that seems to fit the facts, including pushing Finland to become a member.

      They really need this narrative because they are running out of people who would volunteer for the meat grinder.

      Same reason they are testing borders, to get one of their jets shot down to justify committing conscripts to Ukraine.
