      I’m not quite sure how.

      She borrowed to cut taxes.

He wants to borrow to fund programs.

I mean, he can’t borrow much, but it’s not like he wants to cut his income by taking out a loan and hoping the country will just fix itself.

Starmer and his team love to smear anyone even slightly to the left of them but Burnham is no genuine leftist.. It’s easy to talk about scrapping caps and nationalising stuff but past performance shows he’s more about managing the system than changing it..

What Labour really needs imo is a leadership that actually wants to put ordinary people first not just play safe politics or settle old scores within the party..

    3. This is the political equivalent of Waldorf and Statler arguing.

At the end of they day they’re both Muppets.

Both are unlikely to turn around Labour.

In 2015 he claimed £17k for a flat in London when he actually owned a flat himself closer to Westminster (Surely Labour ministers don’t commit housing related financial mistakes any more?)

    4. The idea that he’s pledging to borrow even more when our borrowing costs are through the roof and is basically telling the people who’d be lending him that money to shove it is completely absurd.

He’s either a complete nutter or is doing what Starmer did in 2020 and is just pretending to be a leftist to win over the Labour grassroots

If I had to choose between either of them I would pick Burnham for sure

      > He also proposed a rival economic vision, including a 50p top rate of income tax and a tax cut for lower earners, in an interview with the New Statesman, further fuelling speculation he is lining up a challenge to the under-pressure leader.

and people wonder why top earners are leaving the country. I aren’t talking about billionaires, but £100k+ people. One article we are saying the UK needs the best Cancer Researchers to come here, the next we are proposing more tax on these people. As much as people will say ethics, Dubai starts to look so bloody attractive.
