When you see this sort of gobshite online with a following spreading a lot of lies and people lapping it up and then repeating the lies you can see how the internet is now broken

What’s very concerning about where society is going is that you’ve a huge audience out there very willing to regurgitate this stuff and hear the scandals that they want to hear, without any element of even basic fact checking.
They’re denigrating actual professional media outlets, journalists, reliable sources and ranting about “mainstream media” as if it’s all a conspiracy theory, shouting down anyone who’s deemed an expert, and buying into the worst gossip outlets and conspiracy theorist bullshit you could possibly find.
The U.S. is now so far down this rabbit hole it’s unlikely to recover anytime soon and Ireland certainly isn’t immune to it.
