Come possono così tanti essere così deliranti. Le persone pensano davvero di essere più vicine a un milione che alla povertà assoluta?

Cringe post
People don’t care about the text of the law they look at what their preferred party say and vote for that.
And whats your point exactly? That wasn’t the purpose of the vote.
“Do people really think they are closer to a million than to absolute poverty?”
i hate to break it to you but yes. the mean net worth in switzerland is much closer to a million than to absolute poverty
This “Eigenmietwert” is one of the most stupid taxes I have ever heard of (along with “Heiratsstraffe”). Good that it’s being abolished.
Taxing people with homes will not, nor has ever, improved the situation for those who can’t afford to buy one. The solution is never more taxes, because people who have money will always find ways to avoid them. The solution you’re looking for is how to make land, construction of homes, and homes affordable so many more people could afford them and they don’t need to pay so much rent.
If you think taxing the homeowners and expecting the government to use that money to make homes more affordable in general, you’ll be waiting for a looooooong time.
What the government can do (without using the tax regulations as a tool) is limit the amount of land/houses/apartments one can own. Limit institutional investors in owning so much real-estate. Make regulations so that you can build more densely. This would all improve the availability of real-estate. More competition, meaning more real-estate availability is the solution, not taxing people who somehow made it and bought something for themselves.
what happened?
Just 18? I think it’s much more. People are becoming illiterate… they maybe able to read but not understand..
Maybe start by forcing single family houses to be owned only by individuals instead of companies in case you’re concerned about house ownership. Taxing house owners with a fictional income is just ridiculous and it should be removed, I’m glad this law passed.
I mean, I’m on the fence with it. It **is** an unjust tax and actually make property less accessible. But at the same time it’s a fiscal income that is taken on the most fortunate which already find ways not to contribute fully.
This offers the opportunity to change the system a bit and hopefully make property more accessible.
And if mortgages rates climb passed 2.5%, owner would be losing at the end of the day so it’s not even necessarily beneficial for owners.
Really glad that that weird concept of “Eigenmietwert” was finally abolished!
