We’re going to be seeing a lot of the California desert as the Middle East again lol
I have many practical questions…
Like:
How do you determine where a move was “made”?
What is the “price” of a movie?
That’s a huge move—definitely going to shake up the film industry.
How is this, directly related, to Europe?
Half the post production of films and Netflix etc happens outside the USA these days
I just don’t care about all the USA drama anymore
An average film takes 1.5-2 years to complete, from inception to delivery.
None of the ones in progress can change at this point, and the ones starting will take one look at this and schedule the *airing* of the film for “… shortly after the presidency changes hands.”
And in the meantime all of Hollywood will be even more against Trump, if that’s possible.
lol
This is going to be a big mess, does the Trump Administration even know what do they want to taroff?
Is it Taroff on the production cost of a movie/show?
On Box Office/ Advertisment LLD?
On Production Company / Network earnings?
What about the Redistributors ?
Or even talking about Post-Production that also often happen overseas ?
That could/will put many productions on hold for some time.
Also being careful about Boycott.
VPNs when they invent Film-Taxes…
culture should not be commoditized. i approve of this boycott
>”Our movie making business has been stolen from the United States of America, by other Countries, just like stealing ‘candy from a baby’,” he said on Monday.
what the fuck is he even talking about? 😀
anyway, tough for the new Spider-Man, currently that had scenes shot in Glasgow. Among other Hollywood movies that want to shoot scenes somewhere other than the fucking USA lol 😀
If we expand on that taught, it’s gonna kill cinemas and just make everything go digital cause how the fuck can you tariff a subscription service
How does this even work in the streaming era? Or, at all really? Where is a movie made when scenes can be shot and effects can be outsourced all over the world?
I hope this leads to a Renaissance of European filmmaking somehow, but I think we’ll be stuck with American movies for the foreseeable future.
Yes, I know there’s European films, but I’m referring to the big budget blockbuster stuff.
This will matter for about 5 years until they start doing everything with AI.
What a crappy country Trumps America is.
Hollywood has been braindead for a decade now, I’m sure this will revive it
Noice, they are going to crush their industry (feels like everything is shot in Canada), maybe now we can make Canadian content
No more anime movies for the yanks.
US to impose 100% tariff on actors produced outside the country
But americans cant read subtitles so this has like no effect
What does this even mean? If I take the title literally then how would tariffs be even implemented here? If its about entire production then again they are all over….props might be designed somewhere and music might be engineered somewhere else and scenes shot all over.
Also how would this work practically in streaming era?
Art of the deal
I wonder how that’s going to translate for all the Canadian production done by Hollywood.
Knowing this bunch of idiots, the executive order is so full of holes, if the director wipes his ass in the US, it could be a US made film.
Trump will now search for an American Leni Riefenstahl. USA is so fucked up… I just don’t get it.
Maga. MAKE AMERICA GO AWAY.
How will this be calculated? Based on what?
Empty headed shite. How is the enforceable
