So he clearly did something in Germany, serious enough for them to revoke his settled status, so then he tried his luck here.
If only we had a Europe-wide data sharing system so we’d share information about everyone to avoid this situation.

If he doesn’t voluntarily return like he says he wants to then the home office should be going straight for deportation. The man’s not fleeing persecution or danger, he’s shopping around.

But, how is this not an instant “no” in an asylum claim?

Coming to the UK in the hope of getting work is economic migration, pure and simple, and there are rules for that. If you enter illegally and that’s the reason you came, it should be an instant return.
