Ah don’t worry, it’ll sneak up on us. We’re not great at preparing for things that are more than about one election cycle off.
Another “Ah sure it’ll be grand” approach to policy making in this country.
The emmergence of automation and ai robotics will solve many issues.
I’m glad people are talking about it, and it’s an important topic coming right at us, but we have a government pathologically terrified at making any bold, far-sighted decisions in lieu of just coasting.
We are watching that right now in Asia.
Perhaps a “youth tax” could help alleviate?
One of the guys I grew up with volunteers for the Alone initiative. Every week on a saturday he goes down to the nursing home up the road to spend a few hours with a couple of the old folks there. Guy’s got a heart of gold.
Maybe if they solved the housing crisis we’d start having kids again….
Continue making it more and more difficult for people to live, rent or buy hones, start families, or raise children in a country, and this is the consequences down the road. An ageing population crisis is happening in parts of Asia, and the results are enormous.
Making buying a home affordable and not need 2 incomes. If needing 2 incomes then make child care affordable.
I’ll make some babies but don’t make me poor to do so.
Luckily everyone is cool with immigration and child raising is supported by the government.
Bring in the dying with dignity bill. They of course waited until a few of the cervical cancer women that they lied to died before they pushed that bill to the bottom of the pile
