The penalties for this are completely irrelevant. The cost of doing business for some landowner who has got away with this. Until there are real penalties for doing environmental damage, it is kind of pointless fining someone a grand because it is no deterrent whatsoever and in fact it will just encourage more destruction of the environment

I mean for one, this cunt of a landowner should be forced under the EU regs at least to remedy and enhance what he destroyed as a penalty on top of a large punitive fine. Businesses and people going for planning certainly are but not farmers. No wonder the country is in such a poor state
