He said that Poland is responsible for being attacked by the Germans in 1939, provoking WW2. He was silent about the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, The Moscow Times is silent about the entire remark.
Last I checked, EU countries lowered conscription, didn’t spend enough on the military, and enjoyed peace. Russia was in the G8, Nord Streams were built, eyes closed on their Chechnya and Georgia wars, everyone was happy to buy their gas while Russia was militarized. Then they invaded Ukraine, twice.
The world wanted Russia to behave. They didn’t. Now they blame the EU for responding.
Anything but taking responsibility for his own and his country’s actions… once again.

So Putin invades a sovereign European country, and then the other European countries arm themselves, fearing they’ll be next. Then, it’s Europe that becomes militaristic and threatening. This is what happens when you refuse to believe your actions have consequences and live in your own propaganda bubble.
And because Europe helps Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression, the war lasts longer. No, because Putin refuses to keep his army on his own soil, the war lasts longer! Just get the fuck out of Ukraine!

Idiotic. Europe re-militarisation is a response to Russian aggression. We were happy not wasting money on weapons if possible.
But this is mostly pointless for most of us. Putin and Medvedevs crazy takes care not a debate with the west. It’s mostly for internal Russian propaganda and to some degree for the far right assholes he aligns with in various nations.
