What we’re seeing here is the instrumentalisation of democracy/human rights/identity politics stuff to distract the masses over the organised Labor.

The society simply persistently falls into the trap. The Courts exist for a reason.

Why’s it so hard to focus on subnational level extreme & multidimensional poverty?

Always smart to restrict the spreading of information, especially when it comes to vulnerable groups. I’m so happy that the world is getting less and less accepting of queer people, so glad that I am getting more and more scared to go outside because of who I am.

Oh no, rightwingers in the Europe-sub? I am shocked. Shocked! Well, not THAT shocked.

    6. Just another useless thing that doesn’t even exists to appease her base, and i have to understand what is this thing since in Italy schools don’t even have the subject, hell, when i was in mid school sexual education was done by our athletic teacher and it was terrible lmao. Meanwhile italian industry production is completely still for two years, export with the US is -21% (and she keeps sucking Trump’s dick), without the pnrr funds that europe gave us we would be in a stagflation, but Meloni doesn’t care about that, all she does is propaganda, and she imported here the same exact playbook that Trump uses in the US with all the cultural bullshit (that, to be precise in Italy doesn’t even exists, so she is just fighting imaginary enemies while her sheeps cheers on that).

No matter where in the world they are, the right insists on being ignorant bigots.

When I read stuff like this all I’m thinking is “but why?”. It just makes the world a worse place.

    11. Limiting sexual education is literally about controlling children’s sexuality by preventing them from learning about safe and healthy practices.. its a form of control. Not safety

Yes, great idea, lets restrict sex education in schools. Don’t be surprised when teen age pregnancies and abortion numbers go through the roof…..

In Italy there is no trace of what the title says. I don’t understand how it is possible that international newspapers every week propose and accept laws on their own and then make headlines like these as if they were true.

Although I am not voting for Meloni, the amount of bullshit that the media has been inventing about Italy since she has been prime minister is something extremely wrong and annoying. Sometimes they change and decontextualize what some random politician has said and transform it into a new law immediately promulgated by Meloni. I still remember articles in which they were convinced that Italy had banned English words or that it had kidnapped all the children of lesbian couples.

    14. Is Italy heading straight back to fascim. They never really dealt with that problem like Germany did after they lost the war.

Lots of outrage over this, but why? What’s so important about gender theory that it’s removal from school is such a bad thing?

    16. LongLiveHermitKing on

We had a similar policy decades ago:

You would be hard-pressed to find anyone today who will say it was a good thing. Only the most zealous ideologues support these things because their worldview isn’t tethered to the real world or based on tangible outcomes. Because all this actually does is harm children.

Anyone pursuing or supporting such policies in 2025 aren’t interested in protecting kids, quite the opposite, in fact.

Either because they don’t care about the actual effects their ideology being implemented into law has in the real world and on real people, or they actively want to see LGBT children suffer, but obviously know better than to be honest about that.

This is good to hear. Gender identity theory is homophobic and misogynist.

    18. I mean if you are teaching sexuailty to kids then you see kids as people who can have a sexual identity. I don’t anything about hetero or LGBTQ+ should be taught pre puberty, maybe around the time kids should have sexual education.

    19. Small_Importance_955 on

This is a good thing. Cultural influence can’t be excluded when studying the reasons for the recent increase in gender dysphoria among young people. I think kids should first be allowed to grow up and finish puberty without anyone questioning their birth gender, and then later be allowed to freely decide their identity as adults. Protect them from social media influences while they’re still young and malleable.
