Those will have turned into some form of brandy by Xmas ffs! It’s a bit soon!
Although it’s probably time to start baking the Xmas cake.

They know exactly what they are doing and I did one couldn’t be happier about getting mince pies on a shite September evening and having them with a cup of tea. Was lovely

Literally looked at them today and seen November and laughed.

They’re selling them before the proper Xmas stuff is in, a sort of clearance. What’s the issue?

They are also flipping tiny! I got them and was shocked. 2-biters!

That’s hilarious… I would bring them back and say you were saving them for Christmas… and show them the date

Buying Christmas pies in the first week of October so you can complain that they go off in November is so Irish

These were 99c in 2023. €2.50 in 2024, they were leasing them off for 49c in December/January because nobody fell for their bullshit.

      How much are they now?

They wouldn’t last the hour after getting home, even though they’d put you in a food coma & destroy your caloric intake for the day. 10/10, would recommend.

Like they’d last till Christmas anyways. I’d eat them all in a sitting for tea. Which is why I won’t buy any till December😌

Last years stock. Probably been in a cold store for the last 10 months. The best before on stuff like this is probably half what the actual use by date is. Plus the filling has had an extra year to mature (which is a good thing in mince pies). If they are on special offer I’d say grab them and keep them until Christmas. Then throw them into the oven for 10 minutes before serving and they will probably be the best mince pies you will eat this Christmas.

For perspective I have a “Specially Selected” luxury Christmas pudding sealed up in a kitchen cupboard since January. Got it on special offer. Its had a year to mature and that’s our Christmas day pudding this year. Will buy next years one in January again.

Jaysus, miss those things. Can hardly find them here in the states, the od European stores over here will have something very similar but not the same.
