I guess I’ll just quote myself from june 18.
‘We know what happened. Spain’s grid wasn’t built to handle a lot of renewable energy. They have a project for it, but it’s way behind schedule, without any doubt due to cost savings.’
On the day I flew to Portugal – I remember it well.

According to Pedro Sanchez, the economy is going up like a rocket though. Fake news.
Please a voter to PSOE, tell me: why didnt Pedro Sanchez, in the 7 years he has governing, invest in modernizing the electrical grid? What will he do to solve this problem?

Sorry if Portuguese grid is obsolet then Germany’s one must be ancient. This is not because we are better but because we electrified much later. We were taken out because the Spanish made it impossible to survive, they were imprudent in their grid management and we were dependent on their power at the time of the outage. The reboot part is also striking, the UK believes a Black Start would take days, the fact was most of Portugal was up 12 hours after it happened. My Region as I arrived home from Lisbon was the first to go up since I live near one of the BlackStart Plants.
