      Load of American consumerism nonsense.

Best thing I ever did was cancel Amazon prime.

Appreciate the consumer tip but i just don’t need to buy anything. My family have collectively agreed this constant gifting sucks and isnt needed

Getting slaughtered by people that clearly can’t read.

It’s pretty clear this person is aware of the consumerist scam that black friday is. The point is that if you are planning on buying anything, right now is the worst time to do it.

They’re not saying you should go out on a spree and but stuff you otherwise wouldn’t on black Friday. They’re saying not to buy anything now.

How do you track something when you have decided to buy something and not give in to this consumerism!
But sure works well for people who actually need something and the sales might help.

I still remember that year Xtravision tried to do a Black Friday sale, years before it was a thing here.

We had to stay open all night, we only had three customers, and they only came in to see if we were having some sort of problem or something.

It was hilarious, and will take my time and a 5th, thank you very much.

      Comments in this are mental

Nothing in the OP is telling you to buy something. “…What you aim to purchase this year (if anything)”.

If you don’t need anything good on you for announcing it, you get a gold star!

If you do need something, here are some tips to insulate yourself somewhat from corporate greed

Also, as a point of convenience: some stores, mostly Harvey Norman, run their Black Friday sale for ALL of November. Curry’s and Soundstore are forced to do the same due to the competition. Why say this? Because if you’re waiting for it to be cheaper on Black Friday, DON’T.

The staff have enough going on without you asking why the Dyson Airwrap you put off getting for your missus isn’t in stock and making a holy show of yourself, especially on Black Friday, an American-imported consumption panic.

I’ve taken to taking photographs of places I like, and putting them in a nice frame and given them as presents.

—people are grateful for the fancy frames, at least.

I must commend you all for being so switched on to the subtle trick OP was playing here, trying to mindfuck you into consuming with his supposed friendly reminder. Your….

Responses were completely warranted and not unhinged at all and you are definitely not a bunch of fucking weirdos on this sub.
