If they keep losing Mp’s to reform the way they are they won’t have a party to lead at all

I don’t think she was ever going to lead them into the next election. I think she was a sponge to soak of a load of bullshit, and they’ll elect a new leader about a year out from the GE

As poor as she has been of a leader, what Conservatives need to ask is who is the real alternative?

Because if someone like Robert Jenrick is the answer to that question, then they still haven’t got a clue.

    4. It was obvious to everyone (with the possible exception of Kemi) that she was only a stand in to take the flack until people forget how much the Tories fucked over the country

I reckon they will get their wish on Monday the 3rd of November when the rules dictate that Tory MPs can oust her.

The frequency with which the Tories decapitate their party is appalling

And is one of the factors that makes them unelectable

I wonder if there’s any other votes that the Tories forced upon themselves that they’d now like to revisit?

Good news, she was never intended to.

She’s there to eat shit until the election rolls round, at which point they’ll elect some fresh new face in her place.

Her speech was poor, just no ambition, it was flat and robotic

She will probably come out with a statement saying she will deport that half of the membership.

I’m actually finding it quite funny between all political parties that deportation has become something of an Olympics albeit kind of tragic at the same time.

I’m surprised it’s only half tbh, she’s woefully unconvincing. winning the leadership contest when she did was always a poison chalice

Half of Tory members will be migrating to Reform before the next election

I doubt half her household want her to lead. A total wetwipe who is just farage lite.

    14. Hate them and would love if they were exiled to irrelevance.

But if I were advising them I’d encourage the Tories to reset on some of their supposed core principles. Return to the politics of Thatcher with a much smaller state, big welfare cuts, much lower taxes, and deregulation of business.

Not saying it would necessarily be instantly popular, but it would at least return the classical capitalist blue wall voters and some semblance of actual conservatism.

I know a lot of these types of people and they feel politically homeless since the massive tax increases of the Sunak years, the state overreach of Priti Patel, the perma-scandals of the Boris years, and the pointless culture wars of Braverman.

They have no credibility to run on immigration issues or on fiscal prudence – but surely it would be more fruitful to go back to two or three principal policies like radical income tax cuts, business deregulation and welfare reforms.

    15. The political cycle for the Tories is now dead. They are like the Liberal party of Asquith. Never again to hold power but will limp along. It might not take them as long as the Liberals to claw back something, because it’s probably inevitable that Reform will eat itself to death very quicky should they ever get into power.

But as far as the current Tory party are concerned and probably for the next decade they are toast.

The leader you should be looking for is one not tainted by their 14 years of incompetence and will be ready in ten years time.

    16. UrbanRedFox on

I’m guessing it’s the half that wants to move to reform that voted to keep her as Tory leader because surely 100% of the tories want shot of her. She has to be the worst tory leader that has ever held the position and THAT includes Liz Lettuce Truss.

    17. Mikolaj_Kopernik on

lol, I’d be surprised if half of Tory members even believe she should be allowed in parliament.

Badenoch has consistently failed to skewer Starmer at PMQs despite the fact the Labour government has been appalling since being elected. They have failed in all their stated policy aims Have suffered several scandals. He’s the most unpopular PM ever. Surprised that it’s only half of her MPs who want to dump her.
