To be fair, asking politely is about the only thing they haven’t tried to stop protests so far.

I still find it baffling many people in the UK seem to care more about overseas issues than the numerous issues domestically.
Labour aren’t exactly doing an amazing job, you think there would be plenty to protest about instead of this and the immigration issues, but that seems to be the only two things that get the public out marching in large numbers.
I also find it absolutely mental that some seats were win and lost based primary on candidates views on this issue.
I’m just hyper cynical about all of this. There’s nothing achieved by pro Palestinian marches, the UK government, and I feel 3rd parties are stirring up a lot of this is unrest.
Yes what Israel are doing is deplorable. The fuck are the UK government going to do about it? They have very little power here and other things to focus on. It’s also incredibly stupid that this gets so much attention when other atrocities are completely ignored. It compounds the feeling that this is manufactured outrage in some ways.

Unfortunately Sturmer has no credibility on this issue. He’s right that it’s a stupidly provocative and, maybe more importantly, unkind date to do that protest. But it took him so long to adopt any sort of reasonably balanced stance on the whole conflict that this is just going to come across as another vocalisation on behalf of his lobbyists.

Why would they organise a protest on the anniversary of the terrorist attack? 🤔

Ah yes because telling students not to do something is the surefire way of getting them not to do it, and it totally won’t make them want to do it more…

Pointless from him.
They don’t care.
Ignore the marches if it upsets you, it’s easily done.

He can ask, but surely freedom of speech and right to assembly are core parts of living in a democracy. Right kier? Right?…

If you vote for your domestic politician (especially in local elections) because of their position on a conflict we aren’t involved in, then you’re an idiot

Starmer always hiding behind the antisemitism fallacy. 100% of the students are against the Israeli genocide, not the Jews. God is dead, since the 60’s. Nobody cares about religion in the UK.

Will the IDF pause it’s military attacks on Gaza for the anniversary? That’s the only way this would be acceptable.

Protesters don’t need the permission of the protested.

Why can’t people ever learn? Tell someone not to do something and there will always be someone who will.
