Stop spread Russian propaganda by some clips cut from some 5 second clips and watch the whole interview. She makes it very clear that it is not their fault and rather simply explains the chronology of the events and in one of many mentioned step the EU states couldn’t agree on a united position, which is not giving any fault for the war to anyone.

Can someone tell me how this is Russian propaganda when Merkel visits one of Putins stooges (Orban) to promote her book on how easy it was to wreck German economy and culture and casually lets out that indirectly Baltic states and Poland are responsible for Ukrainian war because they didn’t want to go to bed with Russia after Georgian and Crimea invasion?

I’m actually surprised that Merkel is so vocal about her own legacy and tours around the world saying basically “I did nothing wrong”. Lots of us Germans expected her to be rather quiet in retirement. Maybe that is her plan for after the book tour, but it surely won’t help to drop certain opinions like the way she does now.
That being said, don’t believe all the stuff that is written about her now. Lots of stuff is the stuff is just “I read the headline”.

The same Poles who were telling us “Russia is an evil warmonger” were also telling us that Merkel was an evil Nazi dictator who wanted to subjugate Europe and create a Fourth Reich. It’s not on the rest of Europe that nobody took the serious.
She’s certainly the worst European leader of the 21st century. Most of Europe’s problems are her doing: the refusal to admit Ukraine and Georgia into NATO in 2008, mass migration, energy dependence from Russia, weakening European military, etc. Her place is in jail.
Merkel is very bad, but specifically isn’t one of her faults.
The first part is fair enough, but Merkel has never said the Baltics or Poland is at fault.
She may have been too naive in believing in peace through trade with Russia, but she’s not stupid.

As a Latvian, first thing, I don’t care and don’t know who this woman is. Second, I’m super proud of Germany and it’s efforts towards Ukraine. It gives me genuine hope and trust in Germany. And as many people have stated, it’s out of context, she is not wrong in saying that these countries have a strong stance against any and all efforts regarding Russia and they might oppose to what other states of EU want, which is reasonable. But there is no reason to think that they just blame us, even though they are one of the biggest supporters of Ukraine efforts.
