Putin’s Russia is only getting nastier. The political system has become violent and quasi-fascist. The economy is thoroughly mobilized for war. Putin is forging deeper ties with other US adversaries, like China and North Korea. He believes his country is already locked in an existential conflict with “the collective west.”
That struggle will continue, in one form or another, even after the war in Ukraine ends. It may even intensify, as China supports Russia’s below-the-threshold assault.
Chinese meddling in Europe isn’t nearly as aggressive as Putin’s. But Chinese ships have been involved in cable-cutting incidents in the Baltic. Chinese cyberattacks have become more ambitious and more common. Western officials allege a growing symbiosis between Russian and Chinese disinformation campaigns.

What does China gain from this? We have strong economic ties. They benefit from us being well enough to buy from them.

Hot take: China is harming the EU less than the EU itself.

What this will probably lead to is a dual invasion of the Baltics and Taiwan
The US has already admitted if China tries to take Taiwan there’s not much to be done about that and the US most likely won’t be able to stop them
NATO and the EU don’t seem to be strongwilled enough to challenge Russia directly, although individual powers certainly will (Poland, France, possibly Germany, possibly the UK)

China is bankrolling Russia since the beginning of Ukraine war.

I imagine we will be tougher, less stupid and more radioactive for many decades after this war has finished. Then we will forget again, and will be attacked from the East and the South, again.

Let’s trust an American propaganda news outlet that already was part of leading EU in NATO on fabricated and ghost chase of WMD in the past. Nothing is wrong this time. /s

Dictatorial regimes will have to put aside differences for the common cause & continued oppression of its people leaving the few to retain power & wealth, these regimes must continue to oppose human rights & freedoms to survive.
