    1. Just sounds anti British values to crack down on peaceful protests.

They want to be careful before doing that is criminalised too.

Welcome to Dystopia, do not think, do not look, do not listen. Do not read and do not speak. Unless you are commanded to by the Leader. Currently Keir Starmer, you may write his name only after prostrating yourself six times in front of the government supplied effigy. To speak his name it will be 24 prostrations.

      Go in peace.

“A government that treads lighter on your lives” turned out to be a huge crock of shit didn’t it?

the more you prevent legitimate protest (civil disobedience) the more likely armed conflict will arise.

Sounds like a recipe for less protests but more riots. Far better the public lets steam off slowly than letting it build up.

We should all be concerned about this, I have no idea why the other parties aren’t calling out Starmer for being an authoritarian? Surely all you’d have to say is ***”Keir Starmer is an authoritarian who wants to take away the right to protest if he disagrees with them, if you want to protect democracy in this country then vote for (insert party here)”***

I think Civil Liberty groups whine about every little thing but in this case they’ve actually got a good point…

But in a cold analytical way, there’s no point curtailing protest as sadly it achieves almost nothing other than to make the participants feel better about themselves. There’s been countless protests the last few years and I’d say they’ve been ignored by and large by the ones in charge.

I get the concern but what do people think should actually be done about thinly veiled hate marches that go on for literally years with no end in sight? I mean, doing nothing is a legiitmate option, but I don’t think people should pretend it’s the obvious and moderate option in the face of evil.
