Grazie!

  1. Well…it says “2 Transfers” in your screenshot. Did you have more than two transfers?

    1. If transfers are planned they are of course also printed on the ticket, if they aren’t you can’t know about them in advance, apart from having some info in DB navigator shortly before the trip if the disruption and its effects are already known at that time

    2. see 1.

(also your text isn’t very clear but I’m assuming you only mean the RE part of your trip, your picture from the DB website shows two transfers)

Disruptions happen, in track issues, personell issues or breakdowns of trains, that’s most likely why you needed to transfer. Check the train before you leave, sometimes those things are planned a bit upfront.

It shows in your screenshot “2 transfers” and you can see the 3 trains in the little diagram you underlined

If you would press on the detailed view, it would ofc also show you every train exactly

  5. you clearly have 3 stages: first is S8, then the RE train, then another S at the end.

  6. Since you haven’t shown us the details of the journey, I don’t know quite what you mean: the image shows the RE train stopping just short of your final destination and a transfer to an S-Bahn train. Are you saying you expected to transfer at Nürnberg Hbf but the train stopped before there and you had to get another train to get the S-Bahn train?

It can of course happen that a train unexpectedly cannot complete its journey: this can include things like an accident, a technical failure, even the driver having a sudden medical emergency.

Do they only announce it in German? It’s been a while but I thought they do an additional English announcement as well?
Also the DB app might have info’s if there’s any interruption. Can’t always rely on that as they’re slow af unfortunately.
Other than that, keep asking people to help you translate what was being said. Traveling with DB always is a pain in the butt lol

Hm? On the picture this appears to be three different trains, not a direct connection.
