For more detail: Elina Eickstädt, spokesperson for the CCC and part of the “Stop Chat Control” alliance, warns: “Even if Jens Spahn speaks out against chat control, the BMI and BMJ will ultimately decide on the federal government’s position.” The decisive factor is not only that the Danish proposal was rejected on October 14, but also that the federal government generally takes a position against client-side scanning.

Jens “I wasted multiple billions in one of the dumbest decisions anyone has taken in German politics this century, baselessly try to discredit anything SPD, Greens and Linke do as incompetent and dangerous while openly flirting with MAGA and AfD” Spahn is talking out of his ass, as always, but in this case I actually believe even he is able to see just how unpopular this shit is.

The MPs will just led the ministry decide something they don’t agree with? They are the ones who hold the power here, surely the party’s opinion has to matter a lot, the ministry isn’t some independent institution after all, it’s controlled by CDU.

Do not believe anything this person, Spahn, tells you. He’s a liar and criminal. His party CDU/CSU is actively working to prevent ANY investigation in his crimes. He alone cost the German government Billions €.
