I thought after the Gavin fiasco JC is done … sorry but can’t take him seriously anymore.

Can expect another big hit with property tax being hiked. No energy credits and carbon tax. Add inflation and the squeezed middle are considerably worse off.

No tax breaks as they’re funnelling billion per annum for the lads in the Asylum housing business. Ycnmiu

Im losing around 100 a year, and i do understand that seems something so small to be upset about, but with the cost of everything gone up so much, trying to save for a mortgage (more out of reach then ever) and having to pay privately for my child’s OT as the waiting lists publicly are years I just feel so dejected.

Sorry, it’s a sacrifice you all need to make.

We’ve gotta spend a few billion on IPAS centres, so the FFG mates can get filthy fucking rich.

Don’t forget 100 million to host the Ryder cup (the epitome of a private vanity project).

      Edit: “only” 88m apparently…

Watching RTE question Jack Chambers last night was poor. Chambers said that record amount of investment, both public and private, was being spent on housing. Surly the follow up question would be to ask, if record amounts of money was being spent on housing, why are the outcomes so poor in terms of delivery and home ownership for average working people? Weak journalism. We need Vincent Browne to make a comeback.

Well, there is only one way to fix this, 100 more years in power!

Perfect. My kink is working for a wage that goes solely on paying bills and nothing outside of that. Living to work.

This is what we voted for. We knew it was coming 🤷‍♂️

As it’s well established that FF/FG are two cheeks of the same arse and we end up with the same budgets no one ever likes why does everyone keep voting them in?

Ireland is turning into one big corporation ass blast. Only inhabitable if you have a well paid tech job and are willing to spend your life getting blasted in the ass.

Because fuck the middle class, what good did they ever do.

Why are there different rules for married couples to single people, when single people need even more help than married couples?

    14. short_snow on

lol, who would have thought that middle class were going to get anything other than a tax increase to support welfare and energy grid improvements for data centres

“Ah sure look, it be grand! Jimbob was a nice lad growing up so that’s why I voted him on in”.

Until folks vote in regards to political parties and not voting on who you knew personally whom have no power when instructed by their party to do as their told, we will have these austerity budgets 3 out of 4 years every cycle. But don’t worry folks! Few more years when the GE comes up, they’ll release a “soft budget” for us stupid people to vote them in again..

    16. > PRSI goes up again this year, adding to costs for workers.

      > This is to fund maintaining the pension age at 66 and paying for the recently introduced higher Jobseeker’s payments for the first three months after someone loses their job.

Say what you want, but I’m absolutely okay with this. There’s more to society than *me, me, me,* and to know that an extra few euro from my payslip can help those in more vulnerable situations than myself is something I welcome. Ideal for me? No. But that’s not how society works.

The economy had signs of overheating so not too surprised they’ve done this, as tough as it is

Come someone explain what the definition of middle class is? Want to figure out how much of an ass blasting I’m getting

Miriam O‘Callaghan has absolutely no business interviewing FF politicians. She has some fucking neck.

“This will be the first significant price increase since this Government came into office, **adding €3 a litre** on average to every fuel tank between now and New Year’s Day.”

      > A person on a typical €50,000 salary will end up paying almost €500 extra in income tax, USC and PRSI next year.
This is due to the budget decision of Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe not to increase the tax credits and the failure to widen the income tax bands to account for inflation and wage rises.

No fan of this government. But…

Clearly that’s incredibly bad statistics. There’s no 500€ tax increase on someone whose salary stays the same.

    22. There is no election coming up so no need to even pretend, thanks non-voters.

    23. A-Hind-D on

Lads, come off it. It’s all your own faults for being poor.

Tighten the belts, get up earlier in the morning, and just stop being poor middle class. McDonald’s needs the tax breaks more than you need your heating this winter.

For that headline to make sense the person’s wages have to have increased.
