Abbiamo appena combattuto #ChatControl: ora l’Irlanda 🇮🇪 vuole la propria legge backdoor. 🔓 Ma noi, insieme a circa 40 organizzazioni, diciamo di no.

This is serious folks! Completely separate to the EU Chat Control bill, this is a local law where the minister for justice wants to introduce an encryption backdoor into Irish law!
Good chance this would just lead to social media and tech companies ceasing services in Ireland. Apple were talking about leaving the EU because of chat control so dunno if our 5 million would really be worth the headache.

I love the idea that ministers think they can compel international business to make curated systems just for them, and that non-compromised options won’t be accessible to people. Like Signal isn’t going to suddenly not work because random FF dipshit wants access to folks text messages.

Ireland is in favour of this utter madness, then you hear *oh think of the children*, yeah, maybe look at the system already and what Judge Nolan thinks of the children.
So, I get my privacy upended so you get to give someone a slap on the wrist in the courts, would you lot ever fuck off.
