The Ballinasloe Horse Fair, the gift that keeps on giving.

You’d think irish rail / AGS would have the foresight to have extra security / Garda presence on trains coming from the fair. The lack of security presence on all public transport in Ireland is truely mystifying. Not excusing the fact that these kids were obviously absolute cretins.

What’s more, the incident took place 2 days ago yet was only reported on by the Westmeath Independent, the GalwayBeo and gript. Bonkers.

Genuinely can’t believe that, utterly disgusting. Can’t put feelings into words here

It reads like pure madness and not covered by many outlets. Disturbing to read that article.

    6. Blood boiling! And this country refuses to punish them, or change things to make it easier to punish them. Infuriating!

There is a LOT to unpack in that story !

Surely there is CCTV footage of the kids on the train or in the station to identify and prosecute them

Going back to even before the train journey (Ballinasloe fair) what are the rules for selling animals to minors ???

I know animal welfare officers there on site usually have their hands full with larger animals but how can we prevent this happening again.

That is just sad, to know the likely outcome those animals faced and terrifying for passengers..

So sad, sick kids, no excuses for them

Meanwhile their parents are out cable tying flags to street lamps

Any child who tortures an animal is already a red flag for what’s to come in the future.

I wish I hadn’t read that. Very upsetting. I know you’re not supposed to involve yourself in these situations but I don’t think I could stand by while that went on. Children can be monsters

Sure isnt it our fault for not helping their parents with more welfare payments and not respecting their culture and civil liberties.

I would struggle to control myself if I seen animals being harmed in front of me. Little w⚓️s

This is something that doesn’t happen in Eastern Europe. Teens here, especially Dublin, seem to lack any kind of fear. Sometimes a good old beating is all that is needed when the legal system is obviously useless

    14. Any_Necessary_9588 on

The animal torturers travelled on the train you say? 🚆

    15. wolf101123 on

The emergency handle should have been pulled. Torturing animals and attacking people with aerosols is criminal activity.

How hard would it have been to have some Gardai waiting at the next stop to board and sort this shit out?

    17. i-read-it-again on

So basically out of a train load of passengers. One female stands up to 14 year olds . Off all the passengers just stood up. Just stood up . It would have an effect. Also where’s the cctv footage .

    18. kieranf19900 on

This is useless and pointless now…. Why wasn’t everything recorded?… Why didn’t they get all their faces?.. Waste of time talking about it now..

    19. gerhudire on

Is there no on board security cameras?

If there is it seriously needs to be passed onto the guards.

I actually had to triple take reading that article. What in the name of fuck? How is this not huge? Absolute utter scumbags. And the thought of being so powerless to help those small animals is making my blood boil. Idk how I’d react in that situation. I couldn’t bear to witness that without doing something, but sounds like those feral kids would just set you on fire or something.

I knew it was going to be Ballinasloe before I even got to that part of the article.
