To All Democrats in Europe!

From my cell in Silivri Prison, I send you this invitation:

On Sunday, 12 October 2025, we will come together in Brussels, at Place Jean Rey, for the Brussels Democracy Rally – “Standing Up for the Will of the People.”

This gathering led by CHP Chair Özgür Özel seeks to unite European democrats in response to the unlawful detention of elected mayors in Türkiye. is not only for me — it is for every citizen whose right to vote, to speak, and to be represented is under threat. It is for every mayor, journalist, and activist who believes that democracy must never be silenced.

I call on European democrats, city leaders, and defenders of justice, to stand with us in unity and solidarity.

Your presence in Brussels will send a powerful message: that the will of the people cannot be silenced, and that the bonds of democracy and freedom are stronger than fear.

Let us show that the voice of conscience, justice, and peace still echoes from İstanbul to Brussels, and from Europe to the world.
