      They are protective housing for oysters, each cube houses about 8000 oysters on an oyster reef/farm, the cubes protect the oysters from rough seas, saved you a click and a paywall

      “Concrete-like”? So they’re not concrete then. Say what they are or just call them cubes. Although the stupidest example of that kind of wording was a newspaper describing someone as being attacked with “a hammer-like object”.

      They’re giant washing machines so the marine life can give things a bit of a scrub up before the Enchantment Under the Sea dance (saved you a click)

      I can’t see it mentioned in the article but it should be said that this was aided by [Project Baseline](https://projectbaselineuk.org/), a group of highly trained volunteer scuba divers. PB will be collecting data from the cubes to better quantify the before and after results.
