Depending on why they’re already in prison this is about as close to a guaranteed whole life sentence as you can get. Edit to add that one of them is a convicted murderer, so yeah, that is a guaranteed whole life sentence.

A murderer and a rapist, seems like he wasnât on a segregated wing like everyone assumed.

Are we still going to see a stream of comments calling them heroes? A rapist kidnapper and a gang member murderer?

It was always going to turn out to be people like this who killed him. He wasn’t in an open prison surrounded by crooked accountants and people who didn’t pay their tax.
It was going to be some murderer or other sex offender who did him, probably over money or drugs rather than any sense of justice.
I’m not exactly losing any sleep over it, though.

Before anyone offers any congratulations, take a look at one of the attackers:
I won’t mourn Ian Watkins, but these two were unpleasant characters. Of course you don’t make it to HMP Wakefield without doing something heinous first…

Good. Regardless of what a scummy person Watkins may have been murder is murder and extrajudicial killing has no place in a civilized society.

I don’t feel bad for Ian Watkins in any way. An absolutely despicable human, but I doubt the two who killed him were much better.

Truth is he was probably killed over money by equally monstrous men not vigilante justice.

I read the court hearing document yesterday. I had to close the tab. I was almost physically sick. Watkins was more than a monster.
