La Polonia cerca di ripristinare lo stato di diritto nonostante un presidente ostile

Honestly Poland is fucked. Constitutional Tribunal is stuffed with politicians and current government ignores it completely. Supreme court is in state of internal war and nobody f*** knows who has authority there. Other important legal bodies are being ‘reformed’ by crazy extra legal means. President says ‘lol, I will approve nothing, my gang is coming back soon and they will deal with you all’.

All the changes that current government achieved will be reverted within 24h when opposition is back in power. And the current government probably should start running, as the opposition has been promising show trials.

It is not affecting everyday life much, as lower courts are kind of working through inertia (and they never were too efficient), but sooner or later it will.

Just how stupid are the people who voted voor PIS, saw their whole country go down the drain and then thought: “Let’s do that again.”?
