The joke answer is, that it’s a meteor coming to eradicate life on Earth. Just “don’t look up”.
The actual (boring) answer is that it is a small aircraft, and the white fumes coming out of the aircraft are showing up as red/orange because of the sunset behind it. You will notice it always shows around late afternoon towards the setting sun to the West.

Looks like falling debris. How fast was it moving in the sky? Was it visible for a while or did it pass by quickly?

It’s a jet, flying away, with the contrail lit by the sun. Eventually the contrail mixes enough with the ambient air to dissipate.
If you look on https://globe.adsb.fi when you spot one you can see what plane it is and where it’s flying from. There’s almost always jets in the sky during the day, you just only notice them when the atmospheric conditions are right to make contrails.
