Potete suggerire qualche buon posto da visitare lungo o lungo questo percorso? È la mia prima volta in Germania (viaggiando dagli Stati Uniti). Qualsiasi luogo unico o interessante in senso generale è molto apprezzato.

How many days?
If you have plenty of time: Go from Frankfurt via Koblenz to trier and drive along the Rhine and Mouselle.
You should visit the Lorelei at the Rhine and at the Mouselle Cochem and Zell.
Trier has roman buildings. Take a guided tour.
Saarland: The Saar-Schleife
And im Pfälzer Wald: Dahner Felsenland.
However: The US might have a better landscape. Germany can’t compete with the national parks and huge Forests. Therefore you should focus on things you can’t see in the US: half timbered houses, castles, roman architecture.
Bad Dürkheim – Landau – Annweiler for old town centers
Völklingen for the old steel plant
Speyer if you like big churches
I live somewhere on that route – here are few ideas.
Deutsche Weinstraße- very nice wine growing region, depends what time of year you visit I guess. But still lots of lovely towns like Bad Dürkheim and Neustadt an der Weinstraße
Speyer – town on the Rhein, with a beautiful and impressive cathedral. The Technik museum is great too!
Heidelberg – not directly on any of the routes, but a 30 min drive from Mannheim, lovely place, nice castle.
Pfälzer Wald – some nice trails in the mountains. Visit the top of the Kalmit for great views over the Rhine plain. Loads of old castle ruins to visit too.
